Still My Berry Girl

We went to Gramma Karen’s house yesterday to hang out. Grace helped out in the garden. She and Hannah picked strawberries. When Grace was just starting to eat solids, strawberries were to ONLY thing she would have anything to do with.
Here they are rinsing the berries in the kitchen.
Here is Grace telling Emma that she's sorry but she “can only have six.” Because they need a lot of them.
This is "six."
This is what she needs them for.

Cuter Every Day

They change so fast!
Tired from his first big outing.
We spent Father's Day in Salt Lake with Ricky's family.

He has so many cute and fun expressions.

He really likes to practice them while he is sleeping.

Big Sister

Grace is such a good big sister. I am seriously so amazed at how well she is adjusting. I was really worried she would get super jealous of Jacob and try to get rid of him or something. But she has done great. She doesn’t even have issues about the nursing. (And for anyone who knows Grace and her “nee nee” issues, you know this is a big deal.)She loves Jacob. She’s always saying, “He so cute!” or “He so happy to see me!” She is very concerned whenever Jacob cries and wants to help make him feel better.
And when she does want more attention from her mother, she very maturely asks, “Can Daddy hold the baby?”
And Jacob loves Grace, too. I think he may recognize her voice better than mine. (It’s so high pitched and squeaky, he could probably hear it better from inside the womb.) Whenever he hears her, though, he stops and looks around for her. I know he looks a little wary in this photo, but I think he just might grow to adore her more than Ricky and I do.

A Boy and his Daddy.

"Hospital" Photos

We didn't like the photos they took of Jacob at the hospital, so we had our own little photo shoot at home. Here are some of my favorites:

Active inside. Active outside. Great double chin shot.
I love his eyes.
Our bundle of joy.

Jacob Grant Rasmuson

baggy cheeks, double chin, smushed nose
Grace's thougths: "Why does he have cute little ears?"
Answer: "Because everything on him is cute and little."

Feeding the Ducks

Have I mentioned how happy I am that Grace gets to grow up so close to her cousins? I had a cousin growing up (“A” cousin. As in one.), but I rarely saw him. I just think cousins are the greatest thing. What could be better than having the fun of a sibling you don’t actually have to live with?

Well, the other day Tasha, Molly, and I took the kids to the pond to feed the ducks. Here’s Grace, William, and Brooklyn climbing on the rail at the bridge. I watched Grace there and began to imagine her getting too confident with her footing and falling into the nasty, mucky water filled with duck crap and icky fish that look so big sometimes I think they'll eat the ducks. I knew if she did I would be half a second behind her. (The things we would do for our kids.) Then I realized that if that actually happened, and if the water was over my head (I really don’t know if it is or not), Tasha would probably have to jump in and save both of us because I don’t swim very well when I’m weighed down with a pregnant belly. Good thing no one fell in.
